Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. They put in approximately 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and many podiatry programs are located within these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received comprehensive medical instruction with a main focus on problems concerning the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are taught to manage problems ranging from typical ailments such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more intricate including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have significant surgical instruction which provide them the skill needed to conduct surgical treatment on those issues that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet go through as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it possible for a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and avoid a large number of troubles which the feet frequently encounter.
