Our doctors spend an average of 10 years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to general medical school and in fact several podiatry programmes are located inside these academic institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have acquired thorough medical instruction with an importance on conditions regarding the feet and ankles. They are instructed to address problems stretching from regular ailments such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more complicated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical education which furnish them the practical experience necessary to execute surgery on those conditions that are ideally managed through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait deviations facilitates a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and avoid numerous complications which the feet commonly encounter.
