Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists devote approximately 10 years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and as a matter of fact several podiatry training programs are located inside these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received encompassing medical training with a main focus on issues pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to manage difficulties extending from basic disorders for instance fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are a lot more challenging such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical education which supply them the experience essential to perform surgical treatment on those troubles that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait deviations makes it easy for a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and prevent countless problems which the feet commonly experience.
