Our doctors put in about 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and actually many podiatry programmes are located within these schools. Upon acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have received extensive healthcare training with a main focus on problems involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are studied to manage concerns stretching from familiar problems such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are even more puzzling like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical education which provide them the experience crucial to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities facilitates a Podiatric doctor to develop footwear and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and minimize the risk of many problems which the feet generally experience.
