Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. They devote about 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to standard medical school and in point of fact quite a number podiatry programmes are located inside these institutions. Upon acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have obtained extensive health care training with a concentration on complications involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are skilled to treat difficulties varying from conventional ailments for instance fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more challenging for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have significant surgical instruction which give them the experience necessary to conduct surgical treatment on those conditions that are best handled through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs receive as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait deviations allows a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of complications which the feet routinely encounter.
