Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s here at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. They devote an average of ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and numerous podiatry programs are located inside these institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received substantial medical training with an importance on concerns involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are skilled to treat issues extending from conventional problems such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are much more complex including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have extensive surgical instruction which provide them the experience necessary to conduct surgery on those problems that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait problems enables a Podiatric doctor to create footwear and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and help prevent a large number of conditions which the feet typically experience.
