Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors here at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. They invest an average of 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and in fact numerous podiatry programmes are located inside these institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have received extensive medical education with a stress on conditions involving the feet and ankles. They are skilled to handle issues ranging from general problems such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more obscure for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have significant surgical education which provide them the experience needed to carry out surgical treatment on those problems that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait irregularities allows a Foot doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of issues which the feet usually encounter.
