Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Camrose provide services for the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Podiatrists put in approximately a decade in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and as a matter of fact several podiatry programs lie inside these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have acquired substantial medical instruction with an attention to on issues pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are taught to address issues extending from basic conditions like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more complicated like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical instruction which furnish them the practical experience crucial to perform surgical treatment on those complications that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait problems enables a Podiatric doctor to design footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and defend against many issues which the feet normally encounter.
