Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors invest about 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and in reality several podiatry training programs are located inside these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have acquired encompassing healthcare education with a stress on concerns concerning the feet and ankles. They are instructed to treat issues extending from basic ailments for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more perplexing such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have thorough surgical instruction which furnish them the prior experience needed to perform surgery on those problems that are ideally treated through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it easy for a Podiatrist to create footwear and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and minimize the risk of numerous issues which the feet frequently encounter.
