Foot Institute Doctors invest approximately a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles general medical school and in fact quite a number podiatry training programs are contained within these schools. Upon receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have acquired substantial medical education with a main focus on concerns concerning the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to handle complications ranging from normal afflictions for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more complicated such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical education which give them the expertise needed to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait abnormalities allows a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and avoid countless troubles which the feet commonly encounter.
