Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialise in the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our doctors invest an average of 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to standard medical school and in fact several podiatry programs are located within these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received encompassing medical instruction with an emphasis on complications involving the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to treat issues varying from general ailments such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more complicated such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have considerable surgical education which provide them the prior experience needed to carry out surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait abnormalities enables a Foot doctor to create shoes and orthotics that can provide pain relief and help prevent many problems which the feet frequently encounter.
