Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors devote about 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs lie inside these academic institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have acquired comprehensive medical instruction with a stress on problems concerning the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are educated to deal with conditions varying from normal afflictions such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more intricate for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical instruction which give them the experience necessary to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally managed through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors likewise have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait problems empowers a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and protect against countless conditions which the feet frequently experience.
