Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Doctors devote an average of 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact quite a number podiatry programmes are located inside these academic institutions. Upon getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have received extensive medical training with a focus on issues concerning the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to treat concerns stretching from simple disorders like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more obscure like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical instruction which give them the experience crucial to carry out surgical treatment on those problems that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait abnormalities empowers a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and minimize the risk of many conditions which the feet usually experience.
