Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our doctors devote about ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and in fact various podiatry programs are contained inside these schools. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another 1 - 3 years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have gained wide-ranging medical instruction with a concentration on difficulties concerning the feet and ankles. They are studied to manage problems extending from regular ailments such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are much more challenging for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have considerable surgical instruction which give them the experience necessary to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are best handled through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors likewise have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait deviations enables a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and protect against numerous conditions which the feet usually experience.
