Podiatric Medical School corresponds to traditional medical school and actually several podiatry programs are contained inside these schools. Upon acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received thorough health care training with an emphasis on issues pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to deal with issues ranging from simple ailments for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more puzzling like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have significant surgical training which supply them the skill needed to execute surgical treatment on those problems that are best remedied through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait peculiarities enables a Podiatrist to develop footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and defend against a large number of troubles which the feet usually encounter.
