Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialise in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors invest around 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and in fact many podiatry programs are located within these schools. Upon getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have acquired extensive health care training with a stress on conditions concerning the ankles and feet. They are instructed to address concerns extending from standard conditions like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more intricate for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical education which provide them the expertise required to conduct surgery on those conditions that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait abnormalities enables a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and protect against countless conditions which the feet frequently encounter.
