Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors devote about a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and actually quite a number podiatry programmes are located within these academic institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained extensive healthcare education with a stress on concerns concerning the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are instructed to deal with problems stretching from regular conditions for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are more complicated for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have considerable surgical training which give them the experience needed to perform surgery on those conditions that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait problems makes it easy for a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and help prevent many issues which the feet generally encounter.
