Our podiatrists devote an average of ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles traditional medical school and actually a number of podiatry programmes lie within these institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received extensive medical education with a stress on complications regarding the ankles and feet. They are educated to manage complications varying from simple afflictions for example, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more perplexing for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical instruction which provide them the experience crucial to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities allows a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and defend against a large number of complications which the feet routinely encounter.
