Our podiatrists spend an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in point of fact various podiatry programs are contained inside these academic institutions. Upon obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have gained considerable medical education with an importance on problems involving the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to handle conditions varying from familiar disorders for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are much more complicated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have considerable surgical training which give them the experience necessary to execute surgical treatment on those issues that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities permits a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and protect against countless problems which the feet usually experience.
