Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Airdrie provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. They put in an average of 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and numerous podiatry programs are contained inside these institutions. After attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional 1 - 3 years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have obtained wide-ranging healthcare instruction with an emphasis on problems involving the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are instructed to manage problems varying from familiar ailments such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are much more obscure including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical education which supply them the experience necessary to conduct surgical treatment on those problems that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors likewise have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait deviations empowers a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and avoid a large number of issues which the feet typically encounter.
