Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists put in an average of ten years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and various podiatry training programs lie within these schools. At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have acquired encompassing medical instruction with an attention to on concerns pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are taught to handle conditions varying from simple afflictions such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more intricate for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have comprehensive surgical education which provide them the experience essential to perform surgery on those complications that are ideally handled through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities.
