Our podiatrists invest approximately a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and as a matter of fact a number of podiatry training programs are located inside these institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received encompassing health care education with a main focus on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are instructed to treat difficulties ranging from familiar problems such as ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more obscure including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have thorough surgical instruction which give them the skill necessary to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors likewise have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it easy for a Podiatric physician to develop footwear and orthotics which can offer pain relief and avoid many troubles which the feet generally encounter.
