They spend an average of ten years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to general medical school and in point of fact several podiatry programs are located inside these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.
