Foot Institute Podiatrists put in about 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and in point of fact various podiatry programs lie within these schools. Upon attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received thorough medical training with a stress on problems concerning the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to treat issues ranging from simple problems for example, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more challenging for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical instruction which furnish them the experience necessary to perform surgery on those problems that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it easy for a Podiatric physician to develop shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and protect against many issues which the feet usually experience.
