Grande Prairie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Grande Prairie focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors devote an average of 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in reality several podiatry programs are located within these institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have obtained considerable medical instruction with an emphasis on concerns regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to address problems ranging from familiar conditions for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are a lot more intricate for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical instruction which provide them the experience necessary to carry out surgical treatment on those issues that are ideally handled through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait abnormalities empowers a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and reduce the chances of many problems which the feet regularly encounter.
