Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists spend about a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact many podiatry programs are located within these academic institutions. Upon getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received substantial medical instruction with an emphasis on problems regarding the ankles and feet. They are educated to care for conditions extending from standard ailments for instance fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more complex for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have substantial surgical training which give them the experience required to perform surgical treatment on those complications that are ideally remedied through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait peculiarities permits a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and protect against many complications which the feet frequently experience.
