Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors here at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Doctors invest about 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and in fact quite a number podiatry programs are located inside these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the fulfillment of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have obtained comprehensive healthcare training with a concentration on difficulties regarding the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are skilled to treat difficulties ranging from familiar ailments such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more complicated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have significant surgical training which supply them the skill necessary to perform surgical treatment on those complications that are best managed through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors additionally have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it easy for a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and minimize the risk of a large number of problems which the feet routinely experience.
