Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Doctors spend approximately 10 years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and as a matter of fact quite a number podiatry programmes are located within these institutions. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained extensive medical instruction with a concentration on conditions pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to treat problems ranging from conventional disorders like ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more sophisticated for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical training which provide them the experience needed to perform surgery on those issues that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors likewise have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait deviations makes it possible for a Podiatric physician to create shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and reduce the chances of many conditions which the feet frequently experience.
