Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists spend an average of a decade in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact various podiatry programs are located within these institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have acquired comprehensive health care training with a focus on problems involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are taught to treat issues stretching from regular ailments for instance, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more complicated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have thorough surgical instruction which provide them the practical experience needed to conduct surgical treatment on those problems that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait problems allows a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics which can offer pain relief and avoid many troubles which the feet regularly experience.
