Dr.’s here at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. They devote about ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles typical medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs are located within these academic institutions. Upon securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have acquired wide-ranging health care instruction with a stress on concerns concerning the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to manage conditions extending from simple ailments for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more complex for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have extensive surgical instruction which provide them the expertise necessary to conduct surgical treatment on those conditions that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it easy for a Podiatrist to create footwear and orthotics which can offer pain relief and defend against many complications which the feet frequently encounter.
