Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists invest an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and actually many podiatry programmes lie inside these institutions. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received extensive medical training with a concentration on conditions involving the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to address complications varying from typical ailments for instance, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more complicated including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical education which give them the expertise needed to carry out surgery on those problems that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors likewise have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs submit to as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait problems facilitates a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and help prevent many complications which the feet commonly encounter.
