Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. They devote an average of 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and actually numerous podiatry programs are located within these institutions. After attaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric physicians have gained substantial medical training with a main focus on concerns pertaining to the feet and ankles. They are educated to treat difficulties stretching from general afflictions for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more challenging like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have considerable surgical training which give them the experience necessary to perform surgery on those conditions that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait deviations facilitates a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics that can offer pain relief and protect against many conditions which the feet generally encounter.
