Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. They invest around a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and various podiatry programs are contained within these schools. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have received encompassing health care training with a main focus on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are qualified to deal with complications ranging from general conditions for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are more puzzling for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical training which give them the experience essential to execute surgery on those issues that are best managed through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities enables a Podiatric doctor to design footwear and orthotics that can give pain relief and reduce the chances of many issues which the feet normally experience.
