Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialise in the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists devote approximately 10 years in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and a number of podiatry programs are located inside these schools. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have gained significant healthcare training with a main focus on complications pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to handle issues ranging from standard afflictions like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more perplexing including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have thorough surgical instruction which supply them the skill essential to perform surgical treatment on those conditions that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait problems empowers a Foot doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and help prevent many conditions which the feet normally encounter.
