They spend approximately 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles traditional medical school and numerous podiatry training programs are located inside these institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have acquired extensive medical education with an importance on problems involving the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are skilled to manage issues ranging from usual ailments such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more obscure including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have extensive surgical training which supply them the prior experience necessary to carry out surgery on those concerns that are best managed through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute additionally have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait problems makes it possible for a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and defend against many conditions which the feet regularly experience.
