Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals at The Foot Institute – Camrose provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists put in approximately 10 years in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles standard medical school and in reality quite a number podiatry training programs are located within these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received considerable healthcare training with a stress on difficulties pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are qualified to address difficulties stretching from common ailments for example, ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are even more sophisticated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have extensive surgical education which provide them the expertise needed to conduct surgery on those problems that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait deviations permits a Podiatric doctor to develop footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of complications which the feet commonly experience.
