Foot Institute Podiatrists put in around a decade in education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles traditional medical school and in fact several podiatry programs lie inside these institutions. Upon receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have received comprehensive medical instruction with an emphasis on complications regarding the feet and ankles. They are trained to deal with concerns stretching from standard conditions like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more sophisticated for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical education which give them the expertise required to perform surgery on those concerns that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it easy for a Podiatrist to develop footwear and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and minimize the risk of many conditions which the feet routinely encounter.
