Medical doctors here at The Foot Institute – Camrose concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Doctors invest about 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to traditional medical school and in point of fact several podiatry programs are located within these schools. Upon acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

Upon the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have gained wide-ranging health care training with an importance on issues concerning the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are skilled to address problems extending from basic ailments such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are a lot more challenging including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have comprehensive surgical instruction which provide them the practical experience necessary to conduct surgery on those problems that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute additionally have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or carry out other activities.
