Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s here at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists invest approximately ten years in learning, the first four years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles conventional medical school and in fact several podiatry programmes are located within these institutions. Upon getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have received comprehensive medical training with a stress on difficulties involving the ankles and feet. They are instructed to treat complications ranging from conventional ailments like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are more complex for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have thorough surgical education which supply them the skill necessary to execute surgery on those troubles that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a comprehensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities facilitates a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and protect against a large number of complications which the feet generally encounter.
