Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists invest about ten years in education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to usual medical school and actually numerous podiatry programs are located within these institutions. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have obtained extensive healthcare education with a stress on complications regarding the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are taught to handle concerns extending from commonplace ailments such as ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are a lot more complex for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical training which furnish them the prior experience necessary to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are best remedied through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait deviations facilitates a Podiatric physician to design footwear and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and prevent countless problems which the feet generally experience.
