Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Camrose specialise in the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Doctors invest approximately ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles conventional medical school and in reality various podiatry programmes are located inside these institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have gained encompassing medical education with a focus on complications pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are educated to treat issues extending from typical problems for example, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more challenging for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have thorough surgical education which furnish them the experience crucial to carry out surgery on those complications that are best remedied through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors also have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it possible for a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and protect against a large number of complications which the feet usually encounter.
