Camrose Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Health professionals here at The Foot Institute – Camrose focus on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. They devote approximately 10 years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles standard medical school and in fact numerous podiatry training programs lie within these schools. After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another 1 to 3 years.

At the finalization of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received wide-ranging healthcare instruction with an importance on conditions involving the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are skilled to treat conditions varying from basic problems such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more complex including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have extensive surgical training which furnish them the practical experience required to perform surgery on those concerns that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors additionally have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or carry out other activities. Recognizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities empowers a Podiatrist to develop footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and protect against countless conditions which the feet routinely encounter.
