Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Airdrie specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists devote around a decade in learning, the first four years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles conventional medical school and in point of fact several podiatry training programs are located within these academic institutions. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have obtained extensive healthcare instruction with an emphasis on conditions regarding the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to manage concerns stretching from simple ailments for example, fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more complicated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have thorough surgical training which furnish them the experience essential to carry out surgical treatment on those conditions that are best remedied through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait deviations empowers a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics that can deliver pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of troubles which the feet usually encounter.
