Foot Institute Doctors also have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it easy for a Podiatric doctor to design shoes and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and prevent numerous conditions which the feet typically encounter.
