Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians at The Foot Institute – Airdrie specialize in the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Doctors invest an average of a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and as a matter of fact many podiatry training programs are located inside these schools. Upon getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric physicians have received significant medical training with an emphasis on complications concerning the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to care for problems stretching from familiar afflictions for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more perplexing for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have extensive surgical education which furnish them the expertise vital to carry out surgical treatment on those concerns that are ideally treated through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Understanding biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it easy for a Podiatrist to develop footwear and orthotics that can give pain relief and help prevent countless problems which the feet regularly encounter.
