Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Specialists here at The Foot Institute – Airdrie specialise in the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Podiatrists spend about 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to usual medical school and numerous podiatry programs are located within these academic institutions. Upon procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric physicians have received considerable medical training with a stress on problems involving the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to treat concerns varying from conventional ailments for instance fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are far more intricate for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical education which furnish them the experience necessary to carry out surgical treatment on those concerns that are ideally managed through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors furthermore have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs experience as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait deviations makes it easy for a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and help prevent countless issues which the feet routinely experience.
