Our podiatrists spend an average of 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to acquire a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs are located inside these schools. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have gained considerable medical training with a stress on problems concerning the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to treat concerns ranging from conventional disorders like ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more complicated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have considerable surgical instruction which give them the expertise necessary to carry out surgical treatment on those issues that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or perform other activities.
