Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals here at The Foot Institute – Airdrie provide services for the medical and surgical therapy of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Doctors devote approximately 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to typical medical school and in fact a number of podiatry programs are contained inside these schools. Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received thorough health care instruction with a stress on conditions concerning the feet and ankles. They are taught to treat concerns varying from regular disorders for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more sophisticated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical training which provide them the experience necessary to carry out surgical treatment on those problems that are ideally handled through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait irregularities allows a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics that can give pain relief and prevent a large number of problems which the feet frequently encounter.
