Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Airdrie specialise in the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. They devote around a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and as a matter of fact various podiatry programs lie inside these institutions. Upon receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for yet another one to three years.

At the finalization of the internship or post degree residency, our Foot doctors have acquired significant health care education with a main focus on conditions pertaining to the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are skilled to manage problems extending from regular problems like ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more sophisticated such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have significant surgical instruction which give them the prior experience necessary to execute surgery on those problems that are ideally remedied through surgical intervention.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs withstand as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Realizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities makes it easy for a Podiatric physician to develop shoes and orthotics which can give pain relief and prevent countless issues which the feet commonly experience.
