Our doctors put in an average of 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact numerous podiatry programmes are located inside these schools. After acquiring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have obtained extensive health care training with a focus on problems pertaining to the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are educated to handle complications stretching from conventional afflictions for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more obscure like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical education which give them the experience vital to execute surgical treatment on those complications that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors furthermore have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait peculiarities allows a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics that can provide pain relief and defend against many problems which the feet typically experience.
